Thursday Rants- One Piece: Black Beard's Unique Body Type

There's no One Piece this week  :(  Let's hope Eiichiro Oda Sensei feels better soon.

Well, since we don't have new chapter this week, how about let's talk about a problem we have from a while back?

In a world where each person can only eat one Devil Fruit, how did Blackbeard get 2 Devil Fruit powers?  I think the answer is hidden in his Jolly Roger.

A Jolly Roger usually symbolizes the theme of the particular pirate crew.  Straw Hat Pirates has a skull wearing straw hat; Whitebeard pirates has a skull with the same boomerang beard as Whitebeard himself.  So why does Blackbeard Pirates have three skulls on their Jolly Roger?  It's not like they only have three member in their crew, or Blackbeard himself has three heads.... Wait a minute...

Didn't Marco once mentioned how Blackbeard has different body structure or something like that?  What does he mean by it?

Is it possible that Blackbeard is actually conjoint triplets?  Is it why Marco says that he has different body structure?  Is it also why he has three skulls for his Jolly Roger?

Remember back in Mock town when Luffy first met Blackbeard?

While it seems like Luffy and Zoro are talking about Blackbeard's crew members, I think they actually sense that Blackbeard is not normal.  He is not just one guy- he's more than one.

I know this is a long stretch, but why else does Blackbeard have three skulls on his Jolly Roger?  By being conjoint triplets, all he has to do is feed the Devil Fruit to his other bodies.  Thus he can break the one person one Devil Fruit rule- he's technically not one person.

Since we just recently learned what happened after a Devil Fruit user died, we can assume that Blackbeard is feeding his other bodies Whitebeard's Devil Fruit, and that's why he doesn't want anyone to see.

In Fishmen Island, Jinbe told Luffy that Blackbeard has been hunting strong Devil Fruit users.  If he really has three bodies, it will only make sense he wants to give the final triplet a strong Devil Fruit power as well.

I know you might think this is ridiculous, but just remember that Eiichiro Oda had introduced us to some pretty ridiculous concepts already.  Enel's Great Space Operations takes us to space, and faces alien!

At least I didn't say Blackbeard is an alien.  Or maybe...
